Brilliant Brid
The weather at the Bridlington Half Marathon 2008 may not have been brilliant for the runners, but I certainly think the day as a hole was.
Blustery conditions made for slower times then usual in this year’s race but Eccleshill still managed to put in some very good performances.
First man home for us was Mick Hogan in 1.28.12, followed closely by Vincent Bussingham in 1.32.44, then in 1.42.58 came Paul Birrane holding back the pain of an injury to the groin. Next was newly signed Mark Scott with his first time at the distance in a very credible 1.50.54, and another great performance anchoring the men’s team home was Lyndon Ross in 2.05.58.
And with our ever determined Sue Birbeck returning home in 2.38.29.
Well done also to our guest for the day Derek Mitchell with a time of 2.09.22
It was also great to see our juniors in the fun run with Taylor, Tom and Marc finishing in that order. Julie also trotted round with Grandson Joel who I’m sure we will be seeing on here in the future.
This race was the last in our summer championships you can view the finial results of both the seniors and juniors in the Club Championship section, and also the races for the up and coming winter champs.
